The deadline for submitting the September GST return has been extended until October 21

The government has extended the deadline for filing GST returns for September by one day, to October 21, according to the CBIC on Friday.

The GST portal was down on Thursday, the deadline for filing monthly GST reports for certain taxpayers.

Following that, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) stated that an extension of the due date was being explored.

“The GST Implementation Committee of the GST Council has approved extending the due date of submitting GSTR-3B return for September 2022, for monthly filers, from 20th October 2022 to 21st October 2022,” the CBIC tweeted on Friday.

Taxpayers in different states file the monthly return and tax payment form GSTR-3B on the 20th, 22nd, and 24th of each month.

The GST Network (GSTN) serves as the technical backbone for the administration of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). GSTN is served by Infosys.
